Company History J.R. Jet started business in 2005 providing machine designs for the Aerospace market Machines and Designs produced were of custom machines containing a minimum of 5 axis of motion and up to 64 axis of motion. The vast majority of machines produced were for the processing of composite material. This included material layup and cutting. The company made a decision to enter the standard machine market with the introduction of a new class of machine. This machine would include the cutting process of the standard Abrasive water jet head but include the ability to perform high speed machining. This was accomplished by the introduction of a High Speed Ultra High Pressure Spindle system which utilized the same Ultra High Pressure water as the standard cut head. The company submitted a patent application on the product and process. This technology has allowed the company to produce machines which are able to perform Abrasive Water Jet cutting and three dimensional machining in the same setup. The material removal rate of the spindle was three to four orders of magnitude greater than current technology. This provided a technology advantage to J.R. Jet customer desiring to compete in markets which previously were in the area of overseas manufactures. |
